Westminster Aprtment Building

This riverside residence forms part of the iconic Millbank Tower Complex on the Embankment at Millbank. This Westminster apartment building had a history of poor management with poorly managed and tired communal areas de-valuing the property.

In 2008 Bruton Street Management guided the residents through a leasehold enfranchisement claim from The Crown Estate Millbank Court is now a favoured riverside residence in Westminster close to the thriving retail and leisure hub of Victoria.

The resident’s management company had previously changed the managing agent several times in a short space of time, but had failed to find a managing agent that could provide high quality professional advice to the volunteer lay-person board and implement the much-needed change. After a wide tender of small and well-known firms, Bruton Street Management was appointed based on its high level of service, professionally qualified staff (RICS) and attentive staff allocation to the property. This high level of resource to each property gave the Directors the comfort that the high service promised would be delivered.

In the five years since our appointment projects and initiatives include:

-          New communal riverside roof terrace

-          Forecourt landscaping

-          New bin store to conceal waste centre

-          Windows replaced

-          High quality, stylish reception refurbishment

-          Common Parts redecoration

-          Lift car upgrade

One of the property’s best features is the new communal roof garden. Prior to Bruton Street Management’s appointment the roof was vacant and access unavailable to residents. Bruton Street Management successfully undertook and led the design of the roof area transforming it into a communal terrace with panoramic views across the River Thames and London skyline. Such is its success we are currently exploring extending it.

Being a 1960’s tower building there were inherent items in need of renewal. This year we implemented a programme of new double-glazed windows from Velfac and the new double-glazed windows have substantially improved the residences. Working with our architects we ensured the design maximised the river and cityscape views from the apartments and gave a stylish look to the exterior of the building.

Sitting at the heart of the Millbank Arts Quarter, the building now stands proudly alongside its neighbours Tate Britain, Hilton and Burberry’s Global Headquarters.
